Fargo approves nearly $200K fence for police parking lot

FARGO — Fargo will build a fence around a parking lot that police use for personal vehicles. The City Commission voted 4-1 on Monday, July 20, to purchase a $173,992 fence to go around the parking lot east of the Fargo Police Station at 105 25th St. N. Commissioner Chad Peterson was the lone dissenting vote. Fargo Police Department employees listed the fence as a priority in surveys and in-person discussions, Chief Travis Stefonowicz told the commission.

Fargo kicks of marathon of meetings as it prepares 2027 budget

FARGO — Fargo has begun a marathon of workshops that will help city leaders write a nearly $150 million budget. City leaders held Monday, July 20, the first of three four-hour sessions to discuss 2027 budget proposals. The other sessions will be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday. The City Commission plans to pass a preliminary budget Aug. 3, hold a public hearing Sept. 14 to gather input on expenditures and approve Fargo’s final budget Sept. 28.

Fargo airport closer to allowing alcohol on its concourse

FARGO — Hector International Airport is one step closer to allowing travelers to drink alcohol on its concourse. The Fargo Liquor Control Board unanimously recommended Wednesday, July 15, that city attorneys draft an ordinance that creates a Class “A Airport” license. The recommendation will go to the City Commission for a vote. If approved, the commission will need to vote on a final draft for the license.
