Quilter, a company focused on physics-driven AI for electronics design, has announced Project Speedrun, an initiative that demonstrated how AI-driven design tools can dramatically shorten traditional PCB development timelines. In the demo, a single engineer used Quilter’s physics-based AI platform to take a dual-board Linux computer from schematic to fabrication-ready layout in less than one week. Quilter says Project Speedrun is the first computer designed by AI.

STMicroelectronics, Infineon Technologies, and Nuvoton have each announced new microcontrollers that target different parts of the embedded market. ST’s STM32WL3RK8 targets low-power wireless endpoints, with sub-GHz RF integration and operating modes aimed at long battery life in remotes and simple sensor nodes. Infineon’s PSOC 4 HVPA-SPM 1.0 is built around high-voltage battery pack monitoring and functional safety requirements for EV platforms.

Infineon has announced a new addition to its Xensiv radar portfolio, the BGT60CUTR13AIP. This compact 60 GHz sensor targets short-range motion and presence detection in consumer, industrial, and IoT devices. The release highlights Infineon’s push to bring higher-resolution radar capabilities into smaller form factors, reducing the design burden typically associated with RF systems.
