Len Jessup has been scribbling down his thoughts for decades, whether journaling in Moleskin notebooks, typing up notes in Microsoft Word, or telling stories as a kid. One jotted scrawling has stuck with him—a reminder that at the end of his life, he wants to be sure to look back and know he did as much good for as many people as he could, and that he never shied from opportunities to do that.

For more than a decade, Haas Advanced Manufacturing has embraced Chico State as a pipeline for experienced graduates—not only to support their own workforce but to power the manufacturing industry as a whole. This week, the University will recognize the impact of that partnership, with the dedication of the Gene Haas Advanced Manufacturing Laboratory.

By Ashley Gebb Already one of the most diversified farming operations in Northern California, the 800-acre University Farm is the living laboratory for agricultural programs at Chico State and lays the groundwork for the agricultural leaders of tomorrow. Soon, its impact will grow even further with the addition of a new Agricultural Education Center and Farm Store, which will be celebrated with a groundbreaking ceremony this Friday, September 20.
