Journalism is a small part of what I write but I take it seriously when I represent others’ voices speaking truth to power.

No one used hashtags on Twitter by the time I got here.

After John Green followed my Twitter I stopped caring about it, but there are prominent writers/editors who I wish knew and cited my work.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Do something else for an income first and grow into writing more. You first have to afford to write.
