What Muslims Need to Learn from the Kochi Hijab Incident

Dec 03, 2025 |

By Naseer Ahmed, New Age Islam 3 December 2025 The Kochi incident has generated more noise than clarity. The Impossibility of Human Authorship in Declaring Muhammad the Seal of the Prophets

Nov 19, 2025 |
By Naseer Ahmed
| New Age Islam
By Naseer Ahmed, New Age Islam 19 November 2025 There are several proofs of the divine origin of the Qur'an. These include the challenges the Qur'an itself poses to the deniers-challenges I have discussed elsewhere. In this article, I focus on a different and often overlooked proof: the Qur'an's declaration of Muhammad (PBUH) as the Seal of the Prophets, and why no human author could ever have dared to make such a claim.

A Rejoinder to Adis Duderija's Article: The Concept of Wisdom in the Qur'an

Nov 14, 2025 |

By Naseer Ahmed, New Age Islam 14 November 2025 Adis, attempts to stretch Your article The Concept of Wisdom in the Qur'an Hikmah into an amorphous composite of "wisdom traditions," late-antique moral discourse, Syriac Christian influences, and pre-Islamic sapiential culture. It reads the Qur'an through an academic filter that treats revelation as a derivative text shaped by its environment. This approach misrepresents what Hikmah is in the Qur'an and misunderstands its relationship to Kitab.

By Naseer Ahmed, New Age Islam 12 November 2025 Introduction The loudest crusaders against "the illusion of knowledge" on this forum are, ironically, the two most captive to it. Naseer Ahmed, New Age Islam

Nov 04, 2025 |

| New Age Islam
By Naseer Ahmed, New Age Islam 4 November 2025 Faith and the Necessity of Doubt Faith and doubt are opposites - yet inseparable companions on the journey to truth. Doubt is natural, even necessary. There can be no strong faith without first entertaining, wrestling with, and resolving one's doubts. Faith is not the absence of questioning; it is the calm that follows honest scrutiny. A belief untested by doubt is brittle. Running away from doubt, or glossing over it, weakens faith.

How Did Muslims Treat Their Non-Muslim Subjects?

The Verdict of History: Islam, Christendom, and the Moral Record of Civilisation

Ashrof's Missed Battlefront: When Rhetoric Replaces History

Oct 28, 2025 |

By Naseer Ahmed, New Age Islam 29 October 2025 Abstract V. A. Mohamad Ashrof's recent article, A Critical Discourse Analysis Of Raymond Ibrahim Thesis Of Religious War (New Age Islam, 28 Oct 2025), expends considerable effort in dismantling Ibrahim's "clash of civilisations" narrative-but never actually does so. His analysis remains confined to rhetorical abstractions and scriptural cross-quotations while sidestepping the historical record that could decisively confirm or refute Ibrahim's claims.

By Naseer Ahmed, New Age Islam V.A. Mohamad Ashrof's recent article, " Kochi Hijab Incident: Pro-Zionist Global Depiction Under Fire , does well to expose Robert Spencer's Islamophobic distortions - but in defending Muslim dignity, it ends up excusing Muslim irresponsibility. By Naseer Ahmed, New Age Islam 26 August 2025 Unmasking The Veils That Block The Light Of Guidance And Knowledge ----- Preface This article tears away the veils that block the light of guidance and knowledge-veils behind which both traditionalists and modernists have concealed their betrayal of the Qur'an. One clings to inherited dogmas, the other to borrowed fashions, yet both refuse to take the Qur'an seriously on its own terms.

The Hierarchy of Sins in the Qur'an: Causes, Consequences, and Divine Wisdom

Aug 25, 2025 |
By Naseer Ahmed
| New Age Islam
By Naseer Ahmed, New Age Islam 25 August 2025 Introduction This essay unpacks the Qur'an's hierarchy of sins, explores its theological and social rationale, compares it with other traditions, and reflects on its urgent relevance today. 1. Shirk: The Root of All Corruption The Qur'an calls shirk-associating partners with Allah-the gravest sin. For Muslims and the People of the Book, shirk is described as unforgivable if persisted in until death (4:48, 4:116).

Understanding the Roots of So-Called "Islamic Terrorism"

Aug 11, 2025 |
By Naseer Ahmed
| New Age Islam
By Naseer Ahmed, New Age Islam 11 August 2025 Solving a problem first requires understanding its origins. Without identifying the causes, solutions risk treating only the symptoms, leaving the problem to fester, spread, or mutate. Outside the Palestine-Israel conflict, what is today labelled "Islamic terrorism" traces much of its origin to the Cold War battlefields of Afghanistan.

Manufacturing Consent: The Architects of the Good Muslim vs Bad Muslim Binary

Aug 08, 2025 |

By Naseer Ahmed, New Age Islam 8 August 2025 "The savage custom of denying the humanity of others is alive and well, disguised now in the language of liberalism and security." - Frantz Fanon Introduction: Consent by Design, Islam by Dissection The modern Muslim is caught in a chokehold of narratives-not just from hostile powers, but from a class of writers, scholars, and state-endorsed thinkers who present Islam not as a religion, but as a pathology in need of surveillance, rehabilitation, or...

How Modern Muslims Became Prisoners of a Contradictory Legacy

Aug 06, 2025 |
By Naseer Ahmed
| New Age Islam
By Naseer Ahmed, New Age Islam 6 August 2025 This is in continuation of my previous articles: Today's Muslim mind is caught in a tragic bind: urged to follow a religion of peace and justice, while also being told to venerate texts and traditions that undermine both. The confusion isn't accidental-it is the direct consequence of centuries of contradictions layered atop one another and sealed as sacred.

Divine Punishment in the Bible and the Quran: A Comparative Study

Aug 04, 2025 |
By Naseer Ahmed
| New Age Islam
By Naseer Ahmed, New Age Islam 4 August 2025 Throughout history, communities have faced destruction through natural catastrophes-floods, earthquakes, droughts, and war. But the Quran and the Bible distinguish between ordinary calamities and divine punishment: targeted destruction that follows prophetic warning, rebellion, and persistent disbelief.

The Moral Physics of Resurrection: What Survives Death for Resurrection

Jul 17, 2025 |

By Naseer Ahmed, New Age Islam 17 July 2025 How the Quran Affirms Informational Continuity Without Invoking Soul Survival ----- The Quran speaks not of an immortal soul, but of informational preservation and continuity. This is another Quranic truth that remained veiled until now-and perhaps, I was the first to explain it in these terms in my articles dating back from July 2017.

Ahsan as Excellence in Obedience: Not Interpretive Freedom but Moral Precision

Jul 12, 2025 |
By Naseer Ahmed
| New Age Islam
By Naseer Ahmed, New Age Islam 12 July 2025 Across many parts of the Quran, the concept of -the best or most excellent way-is deeply tied not to choosing among meanings, but to doing good as best as we can or the excellence of obedience in moral and spiritual life. Those who interpret rather than take the clear meaning cite verses 39:18 and 7:145 in support, by misinterpreting in these verses as an invitation to select preferred meanings among equally valid alternatives.

Repackaging Revelation: When Qur'anic Wisdom Is Quoted Without Credit

Jul 08, 2025 |
By Naseer Ahmed
| New Age Islam
By Naseer Ahmed, New Age Islam In his recent essay, " On Anatheism: Embracing the Divine Beyond Dogma," Adis Duderija presents what appears to be a progressive spiritual vision-one that rejects rigid dogma in favour of awe, humility, and an open-ended engagement with the Divine. But beneath the academic packaging, what is marketed as a postmodern discovery turns out to be a rebranding of ideas long articulated-clearly and profoundly-in the Qur'an.

Rebutting the "Pluralist Hermeneutics" School: A Quran-Centric Defence of the Universal Message of 2:62

Jul 07, 2025 |
By Naseer Ahmed
| New Age Islam
By Naseer Ahmed, New Age Islam Introduction A growing trend in modern Quranic studies-represented by scholars such as Adis Duderija, Abdullah Saeed, and Farid Esack-advocates what is often described as pluralist hermeneutics. These scholars attempt to navigate between the poles of exclusivism and inclusivism by claiming that the Quran contains multiple, sometimes competing theological tendencies, including both universalist and exclusivist voices.

Was the Prophet Justified in Raiding Meccan Caravans?

Jul 04, 2025 |
By Naseer Ahmed
| New Age Islam
By Naseer Ahmed, New Age Islam After discussing the divine laws of proportional justice in my previous article, " What Piers Morgan Doesn't Understand About Biblical Justice, " it is natural to ask: Did the early Muslims act within this moral framework when they raided Meccan trade caravans? Were these raids mere opportunistic attacks, or acts of retributive justice against a powerful oppressor?

What Piers Morgan Doesn't Understand About Biblical Justice

Jul 03, 2025 |
By Naseer Ahmed
| New Age Islam
By Naseer Ahmed, New Age Islam Ever since October 7, 2023, in every debate on the ongoing genocide in Gaza, Piers Morgan opens with the refrain: "Israel has a right and indeed an obligation to defend itself." To appear balanced, he adds that the only question that troubles him is " what is a proportional response?"-a question he never answers.

Understanding the Message of the Quran: When Cross-Referencing is Unnecessary

Jun 28, 2025 |
By Naseer Ahmed
| New Age Islam
By Naseer Ahmed, New Age Islam 28 June 2025 Abstract This article defends the primacy of the plain meaning of Quranic verses, especially when they express universal and inclusive principles, such as verse 2:62, which outlines salvation for believers across religious traditions. It argues that, given the attributes of Allah, we can take Him at His word when a verse is clear, without requiring validation or restriction through cross-referencing.

Rescuing the Quran from Hermeneutics: Reclaiming the Quran's Message from the Shadows of Unnecessary Interpretations

Jun 25, 2025 |
By Naseer Ahmed
| New Age Islam
By Naseer Ahmed, New Age Islam 25 June 2025 Introduction The Quran describes itself as "a clear Book" () and revealed in "clear Arabic language" ( kitābun mubīn)-a guidance whose verses are "fully explained in detail" ( fu lisānin ilat āyātuhu arabiyyin mubīn ). Yet, Muslims have inherited a religious culture that treats this divine clarity as insufficient.
