Architecture studio PAU has designed a renovation for New York's Penn Station, adding a new colonnade and integrating the Madison Square Garden arena while brightening the congested internal spaces. After years of debate over the design, a consortium called Penn Transformation Partners (PTT), led by private developers Halmar and Skanska, was selected to renovate the building by the Federal Department of Transportation and Amtrak.

International architecture studio Hyphen has released plans for a data centre in Rio de Janeiro state with 10 plant-covered buildings and parkscapes and has claimed it will be "one of the world's first sustainable AI districts". Developed by Brazilian company Elea Data Centres, plans for Rio AI City consist of 10 buildings spread out over a site in the rural Jacarepaguá area, with an energy usage of 1.5 gigawatts (GW) scalable to 3.5 GW.

The centre is sited on a 19.3-acre campus on the northwest side of Jackson Park, where it connects to the horizontal Midway Plaisance Park on the south edge of the University of Chicago. Jackson Park was designed in the late 19th century by American landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, of Central Park fame, and preservationists were initially unhappy with the decision to disrupt the design of the urban park.
