What was your first job as a journalist?
Covering the (Super Bowl Champion) Philadelphia Eagles.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
I was born in 1997.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
To hear perspectives and share them, insisting to the public that they should be interested in and engage with that perspective.
What's your favorite social network?
Twitter. I'm not pretty enough for Instagram or nuts enough for Facebook.
Who do you wish followed you?
Ducklings.
Why did you become a journalist?
Because I find joy and fulfillment in it.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
The Kaleb McGary profile. He endured a lot, and when you share a story like that, you run a tiny facsimile of his marathon.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Find the community and spread goodness. Be kind, open, and authentic. When they see your enthusiasm, leaders in your field will offer advice.
What's your favorite drink?
Coffee. I'm a journalist, I'd die without it. Incidentally, peppermint mocha creamer should be in stores year-round.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Outside.
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
The Athletic or The Ringer.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
Eagles fans aren't any angrier or ruder than any other fanbase. Our voices just carry further.
