Abstract Bacteriophage-derived depolymerases provide promising scaffolds for the rational design of next-generation anti-biofilm peptides. We report two novel lytic Caudoviricetes phages φAB440 and φAB441, targeting multidrug-resistant hypermucoviscous Acinetobacter baumannii, encoding tail-associated depolymerases with pectate lyase domains and endolysins featuring glycoside hydrolase motifs.
