(WTAJ) — A coal truck driver was taken to the hospital after crashing a truck, leaving coal scattered across the road. The crash happened the morning of Monday, June 8, on Route 879 (Frenchville Karthus Highway). A coal truck was traveling east when a tire blew, according to state police.

Somerset County man facing life sentence for attempted murder of U.S. Marshals

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Department of Justice has charged a man who allegedly fired a gun in an attempt to murder a Deputy U.S. Marshal and five officers. Christopher Eric Fisher, 41, of Rockwood, was charged in the 14-count indictment by a federal grand jury, U.S. Attorney Troy Rivetti announced Thursday morning. According to the indictment, on April 16, Fisher opened fire and attempted to murder the deputy and five officers who were performing their official duties.
