Stereotactic radiosurgery plan optimization with a human-in-the-loop reasoning large language model agent
Abstract Large language model agents can adjust optimization parameters in a treatment planning system under natural-language instruction, but no study has tested a model post-trained for extended reasoning against a general-purpose model in stereotactic radiosurgery.
When machines misread science: creating guardrails for human and AI interpretation of biomedical research
6 hours ago Last month, a report suggested Apple was working on a new AI-powered shopping assistant for the Apple Store app on iPhone and iPad. The company now appears to be rolling that out to select users as part of an “Early Preview.” In the Apple Store app, some users now see a new chat-style icon in the …
Prognostic value of preoperative systemic immune-inflammation index in patients with bladder cancer undergoing radical cystectomy: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Abstract Background: To improve risk stratification in patients with bladder cancer (BC) undergoing radical cystectomy (RC), the systemic immune-inflammation index (SII), calculated from routine blood parameters, has attracted attention as a promising prognostic biomarker. This meta-analysis aims to synthesize existing evidence regarding the prognostic utility of SII and to elucidate its potential clinical significance.
Social Media Professionalism in Medical Education: A Call for Cultural and Patient-Centered Perspectives
Dear Editor, I read with great interest the article by Lin and Metersky (2026) titled “Social Media Professionalism in Nursing Students: A Concept Analysis,” which presents a timely and rigorous conceptual framework for understanding digital professionalism in nursing education. The authors systematically delineate five defining attributes, antecedents, and consequences of social media professionalism among nursing students.
Methodological Considerations on a Qualitative Study of Competencies Gained Through Advanced Nursing Education
Dear Editor, We read with great interest the study by Şenyuva et al. (2025) examining stakeholder perspectives on competencies gained through postgraduate nursing education. The authors should be commended for their multi-stakeholder, qualitative design, which addresses a critical gap in systematic program evaluation. Their finding of strong alignment between expected and acquired competencies provides valuable reassurance.

Memetic Computing
Many instances of research in computer science and artificial intelligence (AI) draw inspiration from metaphorical real-world physical and biological systems. Notwithstanding, cultural evolution embodies memes as basic units of transferable information within the mental faculty and propagate across populations through imitation and adaptation.
Unraveling lymphoma-induced immune senescence
Most B cell lymphomas originate from the germinal center (GC), a transient and highly dynamic structure that forms within the lymphoid follicles upon antigen challenge.1 They are markedly heterogeneous and exhibit one of the highest burdens of somatic mutations among all cancers.2,3 Many of the somatic mutations occurring in aggressive lymphomas, like diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL), have the primary effect of preventing the resolution of the “pseudomalignant” GCB phenotype, ultimately
LMP2A regulates S901 phosphorylation of EphA2 to maintain EBV latent infection in gastric cancer - British Journal of Cancer
Abstract EBV infection is closely related to the occurrence and development of gastric cancer (GC). EphA2 is an important oncogenic protein in the progression of a variety of tumors. However, the relationship between EphA2 and EBV in EBV-associated GC (EBVaGC) remains unclear. Immunohistochemical and molecular experiments were performed to compare EphA2 expression between EBVaGC and EBV-negative gastric cancer (EBVnGC).
The Role of the Emeishan Large Igneous Province in Hydrocarbon Formation in the Anyue Gas Field, Sichuan Basin, China
1. Introduction The Emeishan Large Igneous Province (ELIP) is recognized as one of the world’s major large igneous provinces, with its formation closely associated with mantle plume activity during the Middle to Late Permian [1]. This plume activity led to widespread volcanic eruptions and extensive basalt formation [2,3,4].

Dispersal of a dominant competitor can drive multispecies coexistence in biofilms
Many microbes encounter and interact with solid-liquid and air-liquid interfaces1 to which they may attach and embed themselves in a secreted polymer matrix to form biofilms.2,3,4,5,6,7,8 This mode of growth entails fundamentally distinct elements of spatial competition and interactive behavior relative to planktonic growth.9 Biofilm formation inherently involves a struggle for limited space and nutrients,10 and as examples of microscopic ecosystems containing multiple strains and species,...

Eco-friendly quantum dots for liquid luminescent solar concentrators
Eco-friendly quantum dots for liquid luminescent solar concentrators Luminescent solar concentrators (LSCs) are a promising solution to reduce the cost of integrated photovoltaic (PV) cells. Colloidal quantum dots (QDs) have shown to be excellent candidates as a new type of absorber/emitter in LSCs, due to their size-tunable absorption and emission, high photoluminescent quantum yield (PLQY) and structure-engineered large Stokes shift.
Synergetic coupling of photo and thermal energy for efficient hydrogen production by formic acid reforming
Most photocatalytic reactions are conducted near room temperature. In this work, we explored photothermal hydrogen production in a carefully designed photo reactor with external heating. Light sources of different wavelength bands were investigated. Formic acid was used as sacrificial regent to study the photothermal hydrogen production activity.
