Trump Pardons Casey Urlacher For Part In Offshore Sports Betting Ring

Outgoing President Donald Trump has pardoned Casey Urlacher for his part in an offshore sports betting ring. The brother of former Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher was indicted back in February. He was one of 10 named defendants associated with Uncle Mick Sports. The offshore sports betting site was administered in Costa Rica and served US sports betting customers using an agent system. According to the indictment, Urlacher set up accounts and helped move money between bettors and the site.

NJ Sports Betting Teases $1 Billion Month, Sets Another National Record

The sports betting records in NJ just keep coming. The state’s sportsbooks took $996.3 million in handle in December, the most ever by any state. December handle was up around 7% from the $931 million wagered in New Jersey sports betting in November. Sports betting revenue hit $66.4 million for a hold rate of 6.6%, according to the state report. That shook out to $7.6 million in taxes paid to the state.
