We’re truly in a brutal time in the NFL news cycle. Training camps haven’t opened up yet and free agency lists are more or less barren — unless you’re looking at the media landscape and/or previously worked for ESPN. This time of year lends itself to preseason predictions. Sometimes they’re bold, sometimes they’re beautiful, but in the case of Jarrett Bailey’s piece that just dropped on main, they’re a bit of both. There’s no shortage of Vikings-adjacent angles therein.

Byron Buxton spent the first series after the All-Star break in Chicago, readying himself to return to the Minnesota Twins following a hip issue that originally popped up in late June against the Astros. I was an intern for Baseball Prospectus. In college, I covered the Northwestern College Eagles and edited the sports section for our paper.

Yes, my grandparents had one so I played with it some as a young boy.

The immediacy is a blessing and a burden. In a rush to report news, we have sacrificed accuracy for speed -- and this is dangerous.
