The restaurant received a red placard and was ordered to close on June 1 due to a sewage backup in the kitchen area. During a follow-up inspection on June 3, health inspectors found the sewage issue had been corrected.

Gas leak triggers evacuation at Iwilei Costco

HONOLULU (Island News) – A gas leak prompted the evacuation of the Iwilei Coscto on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Honolulu Fire Department. HFD received a 911 call at 1:14 p.m. reporting a gas leak at 525 Alakawa Street. Five units, including a HazMat team, responded with 21 personnel. The first unit arrived at 1:24 p.m., established command and confirmed that all occupants had been evacuated from the building.

Refrigerant leak prompts evacuation at Iwilei Costco

HONOLULU (Island News) – A reported refrigerant leak prompted the evacuation of the Iwilei Costco Wednesday afternoon. Honolulu Fire Department crews responded to the store at about 1 p.m. after receiving reports of a refrigerant leak near the loading dock area. According to HFD, all occupants were safely evacuated from the building. No injuries or medical complaints were reported. Firefighters located the source of the leak and were able to stop it.
