Brian Formo started reviewing movies for The Patriot Ledger at Centennial High School (Boise, Idaho) where he gave Terrance Malick's The Thin Red Line a D-. He's been making amends for that ever since.

I was the "young generational voice" at The Spokesman-Review in Spokane, Washington. I reviewed movies on Mondays after opening weekend.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes. When I was a child, I was obsessively collecting sports cards. I would use my mom's typewriter to make my own.

How is social media changing news?

It removes the possibility of a corporate filter and allows for regular citizens to report.
