Back in March 2024, Warner Bros Discovery shut down Rooster Teeth and put the future of the series RWBY in question. At Anime Expo 2024, Viz Media, Barbara “Yang” Dunkelman, and series Co-Creator and Showrunner Kerry Shawcross announced the company acquired RWBY and will continue to distribute past volumes, new merchandise, and even the possibility of additional chapters. Here’s the official announcement video from Shawcross and Dunkelman.

Review by Diane H, Reviewer Last updated on 14 Jul 2021 My Recommendation There is a dance. Then, a school practice exercise that turns into a real fight. RWBY: The Official Manga Vol 3 is the last volume in this prequel to the anime series. I’m sure I would have enjoyed this entire series more if I had watched the anime first. As a standalone, it works but other than the fighting scenes, there isn’t much going on here. RWBY: The Official Manga Vol 3 earns, as did the previous volumes, 3 stars.

Review by Diane H, Reviewer Last updated on 11 Mar 2021 My Recommendation Smart Ruby, princess Weiss, athletic Blake, and Ruby’s older sister Yang are once again students at the Beacon Academy in RWBY: The Official Manga Vol 2. This time Blake has a secret. Ruby finds a new friend, Penny. And the RWBY team gets to investigate the White Fang gang. The gang used to fight racism against animal/human mixes called faunus. But now, it appears, they have become villains stealing dust like common criminals.
