After a PhD from the Indian Statistical Institute, C. K. Raju started off as a formal mathematician, teaching advanced calculus (real analysis, functional analysis).

Later, he played a key role in building India’s first supercomputer.

He was an Editorial Fellow of the Project of History of Indian Science Philosophy and Culture. He was a Fellow, and later a Tagore Fellow of the Indian Institute of Advanced Study.
