We are going to stay hot and dry this weekend as strong high-pressure remains in control. Afternoon temperatures will climb around 100, a few degrees warmer than yesterday. With the humidity, it’ll feel even hotter, with heat index values ranging from 99-102. The hottest “feels-like” temperatures will be mainly to our north, as it feels as hot as 109. The same weather pattern is expected to stick around through much of next week.

Expect mostly dry weather today, though a few light sprinkles or brief showers are possible this morning west of I-35. As we head through the weekend, the heat will continue to build with highs in the low to mid 90s on Saturday. When you factor in the humidity, it’ll feel closer to 100 degrees. Looking ahead, a strong ridge of high pressure will keep hot, dry weather locked in through the middle of next week.

Visibility is especially low along and south of the boundary, where a Dense Fog Advisory is in effect. Drivers are advised to slow down and use caution.
