(Gray News) - Converse is apologizing after receiving backlash across social media for a recent sneaker campaign, according to multiple reports. The photo, which has been taken down, was initially posted on the shoe company’s Instagram account to promote Converse’s Chuck 70 X sneaker, which launched last month. One image showed the K-pop star Karina standing under a star-shaped spotlight while holding a pair of black high-top sneakers and wearing a calf-length white skirt.

DALLAS CENTER, Iowa (KCCI) - A 98-year-old school donor was surprised with a high school diploma 80 years after he had to drop out. Paul Little would have graduated from Dallas Center High School in 1946 but never got the chance. He had to drop out and work to support his family. More than 80 years later, Little is finally getting his diploma. Thursday, at his nursing home, Little was shocked to see the local school superintendent show up with his high school diploma.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Three generations of a Navajo family were heading home from picking up supplies for an 8th birthday party when their truck got stuck in mud as storms with heavy rain rolled through the area. Kalisi Begay opted to walk home while her mother and 7-year-old daughter stayed behind. The water rose quickly. Soon the grandmother and granddaughter, along with a friend they had called for help, were swept away in the floodwaters while trying to cross a wash.

Thankfully the humidity will not be as high this weekend, so it won’t be adding to much to our feels-like temperatures. Heat Index Values could be as high as 102° Saturday and Sunday. A very weak frontal boundary will move into North Texas on Sunday.
