Tualatin police are looking for a couple of theft suspects, and they need the public’s help. The suspects were seen Dec. 8 at the Bridgeport Village Shopping Center around 4:30 p. m. They were watching a woman as she made a large purchase of high-dollar electronic items. She made several trips from the store to her vehicle, putting the items she purchased in the car.

Portland police arrested a man Friday afternoon for slashing a security guard with a knife. Officers were dispatched to a robbery call in the 1100 block of North Hayden Meadows Drive. They found the victim with a serious cut to his forearm.

Portland Fire & Rescue had a busy morning Friday, responding to two separate house fires, including one where an off-duty firefighter helped a homeowner, within an hour. Portland firefighter Maggie Blackwood was on her way to the library just before noon when she saw a homeowner trying to put out a fire with a garden hose in the 2300 block of North Kirkpatrick Street.
