TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) — Jamea Jackson, a former professional tennis player who reached a career-high world ranking of No. 43, was named head coach of the Arizona State University women’s tennis program in 2024, becoming the first African American coach in the program’s history. Jackson grew up in Atlanta and said one of her earliest memories is on a tennis court. “One of my first memories is on a tennis court — okay, it was on the dirt beside a tennis court,” Jackson said.
