I just read Graham Gardemeyer’s piece on the violence and youth in Nevada County. Anyone doubting there’s a problem should read the police blotter on the same day (3/3/26). There are at least six incidents involving juveniles. This is real and we can’t stand around and wait for somebody to do something any longer. Where are these kids' parents? A man was just convicted of murder for buying his son the gun to shoot four people dead.

I just read the letter from Fran Freedle (June 14) . I’m 75 and feel like I can take just about anything but her letter really strained my brain. I moved here four years ago. I was born and lived in the San Gabriel valley my whole life. I was witness to and participant in a lot of demonstrations. I have heard from friends and relatives how the National Guard and some bad actors showed up and a peaceful protest turned into chaos.
