VICENZA, Italy — The moon will block more of the sun Wednesday evening over places in Europe where U.S. troops are serving than it has in decades, though the totality will pass over the Continent’s mainland only in Spain and Portugal. While it’s the first time in over a century that a total eclipse has been visible in Spain, it’s also the most extensive one visible from places like northern Italy, Germany and Poland since the late 1990s.

VICENZA, Italy — Hikers traversing dozens of tunnels the Italian army cut into Mount Pasubio during World War I have been leaving traces, even dropping whole loads, according to Italian media. Tourists flocking to the Road of 52 Tunnels, as it’s known in English, are leaving behind feces, tissues and the resulting odors, said Renato Leonardi, the longtime manager of an alpine lodge at the end of the trail, speaking to the online news outlet Il Dolomiti.

Yes, but not professionally. My parents had a typewriter that I loved to play around typing on as a kid. I just liked the mechanics of it.

How is social media changing news?

It gives real-time insight into news and events, but it also brings so many new voices into the conversation and allows ANYONE to report.
