The association between the triglyceride-glucose index and diabetic peripheral neuropathy: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Abstract Background: Diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) is a prevalent and severe microvascular complication of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Early risk screening and warning are critical for slowing disease progression. The triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index, a simple and efficient surrogate marker for assessing insulin resistance (IR), has been proven to be closely associated with various diabetic complications.

Research Progress on Downstream Mechanisms of Glucose Metabolic Reprogramming and Its Role in the Occurrence and Progression of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
You are already at the latest version Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a highly prevalent and devastating chronic metabolic disease worldwide, with its pathogenesis centrally characterized by insulin resistance and pancreatic β-cell dysfunction.
Illness Perception and Medication Adherence Trajectories in Patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome: A 6-Month Longitudinal Study
Introduction Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) is one of the leading causes of death worldwide. There are over 20 million new ACS patients globally each year, and approximately 1 million new ACS patients are diagnosed in China annually.1 There are regional and gender differences in the incidence of ACS. The mortality rate in developed countries is declining, whereas the incidence in developing countries is rising rapidly.2,3 Without timely treatment, the patient mortality rate can be as high as 30%.
Pyruvate metabolism enzyme Dlat induces mitochondria protein hyperacetylation to limit fatty acid oxidation in the HFpEF heart
Abstract Increased protein acetylation is frequently observed in the failing heart, including in hearts with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). However, its role in the pathogenesis of HFpEF remains insufficiently investigated. Here, we found that HFpEF hearts displayed significantly protein hyperacetylation, which were predominantly localized to mitochondria and particularly enriched in fatty acid oxidation (FAO) pathway.
Association between triglyceride glucose index and risk of acute kidney injury in critically ill patients: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Abstract Background: Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a common and serious complication among critically ill patients. The triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index, a simple surrogate marker of insulin resistance (IR), has recently emerged as a potential predictor of AKI in this population. However, the existing evidence has not yet been systematically evaluated. Objective: To systematically evaluate the association between the TyG index and the risk of AKI in critically ill patients.
Frontiers | Association between glycated hemoglobin variability and risk of diabetic kidney disease and diabetic retinopathy in diabetic patients: a systematic review and meta-analysis
1Dongzhimen Hospital, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, Beijing, China 2Ordos City Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ordos, China Objective: To provide a scientific basis for the early prevention of diabetic kidney disease and diabetic retinopathy progression in diabetic patients by systematically evaluating the relationship between glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) variability and diabetic kidney disease and diabetic retinopathy in these patients.
Frontiers | Glycemic variability of glycated hemoglobin in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and the risk of cardiovascular diseases: a latest systematic review and meta-analysis
1Dongzhimen Hospital, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, Beijing, China 2Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, Beijing, China Objective: Glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) variability is a crucial indicator for evaluating the stability of long-term glycemic control in patients with diabetes mellitus.
Illness perception, health literacy, and medication adherence in hyper
Introduction Hypertension is one of the most prevalent and preventable causes of mortality worldwide. According to the Global Report on Hypertension 2023, approximately 1.42 billion individuals are currently affected globally, with projections indicating a rise to 1.56 billion1 by 2030. In China, the adult prevalence exceeds 25.2% among individuals aged 18 and above, and rises to over 50% in those older than 60.

NEDD4L is a promoter for angiogenesis and cell proliferation in human umbilical vein endothelial cells
1 INTRODUCTION Angiogenesis is fundamental to the establishment of a functional vasculature, which is essential for embryonic development, postnatal inflammatory responses and tissue regeneration.1 Dysregulated angiogenesis leads to neovascularization, and promotes or exacerbates diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration and cancer growth.2 Pro- and anti-angiogenic factors keep a dynamic balance under physiological conditions.
Modulating Oxidation State of Ni/CeO2 Catalyst for Steam Methane Reforming: A Theoretical Prediction with Experimental Verification
Modulating Oxidation State of Ni/CeO2 Catalyst for Steam Methane Reforming: A Theoretical Prediction with Experimental Verification Steam methane reforming (SMR) accounts for 76% of the dedicated hydrogen worldwide, and will remain the process of choice for large-scale hydrogen production for a long time. Durable and efficient catalysts are always desirable for this high-temperature-preferred process.
Tailoring the hetero-structure of iron oxides in the framework of nitrogen doped carbon for the oxygen reduction reaction and zinc-air batteries
Tailoring the hetero-structure of iron oxides in the framework of nitrogen doped carbon for the oxygen reduction reaction and zinc–air batteries† Rationally constructing hetero-structures of iron species for efficient oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) remains challenging. Herein, an efficient and robust strategy has been developed for building and tailoring FeOx/Fe hetero-structures.
Poly(A)-Binding Protein Regulates the Efficiency of Translation Termination
Highlights • Premature translational termination manifests position effects in yeast mRNAs • Termination increases and readthrough decreases as stop codons approach the ORF 3′ end • Stop codon proximity to 3′ poly(A)-binding protein regulates termination efficiency • Positional variation and termination dependence on Pab1 support an NMD faux-UTR model Summary Multiple factors influence translation termination efficiency, including nonsense codon identity and immediate context.
Comparison of aqueous humor levels of PlGF and VEGF in proliferative diabetic retinopathy before and after intravitreal conbercept injection
Abstract Aims The aim of this paper is to observe the change of aqueous humor levels of placenta growth factor (PlGF) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR) patients before and one week after intravitreal conbercept injection. Methods A prospective case series study was conducted in 24 active PDR patients (24 eyes). All the patients had received 0.5mg of intravitreal conbercept followed by vitrectomy one week later.
