HONOLULU (Island News) -- Southwest Airlines hosted a Spam-themed flight from Las Vegas to Honolulu on Thursday. According to Southwest Airlines, the airline company hosted the flight ON Thursday, April 23, in honor of the 22nd annual Waikiki SPAM JAM Festival and Block Party. The event itself will be held on Saturday, April 26. Passengers who boarded in Las Vegas were treated in-flight to L&L BBQ Spam musubi and were greeted by Spam mascot "Spammy" upon arrival in Honolulu.

City of Honolulu reminds public to save 911 calls for emergencies during storm

HONOLULU (Island News) -- The City and County of Honolulu reminded residents to save 911 calls for life-threatening emergencies during the current storm system. According to city, high call volumes can delay emergency services and first responders from helping those in need. Due to this, the city is asking that residents report non-threatening emergencies from the storm, such as fallen trees or non-roadway flooding, to the HNL 311 app or through the city's website.
