BCL11A-dependent redox regulation in a splenic B cell subpopulation supports erythroid recovery from anemic stress
Abstract The spleen serves as a key site for enhanced erythroid output during anemic stress. While erythroblastic island macrophages are well-established mediators of stress erythropoiesis, the roles of other immune cells remain less defined. Here we show that a specific subset of splenic B cells promotes erythroid recovery under anemic stress.
The pathogenic effector PHYL1 JWB interacts with ZjCURT1A to mediate jujube witches' broom-induced photosynthesis impairment of jujube trees
INTRODUCTION Candidatus Phytoplasma comprises a highly diverse genus of bacteria that pose a serious threat to global agriculture and ecosystems. These phloem-restricted, insect-transmitted parasites are widely distributed and infect hundreds of plant species, causing severe economic losses (Marcone, 2014; Minato et al., 2014). Spread by leafhoppers, they often trigger devastating, uncontrollable epidemics (Deng et al., 2021; Huang et al., 2021).

Involution perception and problematic smartphone use among Chinese college students: the indirect role of anxiety and the pathway-specific moderating role of psychological resilience
Abstract Background: Involution, or “Neijuan” in Chinese, has recently been operationalized as escalating and often irrational competition characterized by increased effort with diminishing returns. Although involution has become increasingly salient in Chinese higher education, little is known about its association with problematic smartphone use (PSU) among college students.
Anisodine hydrobromide targets matk and prevents delayed rtPA thrombolysis-induced vasogenic cerebral edema in ischemic stroke
Abstract Vasogenic cerebral edema is a severe complication of delayed thrombolysis for ischemic stroke, for which no pharmacological treatment exists. Anisodine hydrobromide (Ani), an alkaloid used clinically in China for vascular disorders, is investigated for its potential to mitigate this condition. Here we show that Ani treatment improves survival and neurological function in a mouse model of delayed rtPA-induced cerebral edema by preserving the integrity of the blood-brain barrier.

Microalloying Strategies Enable Heat‐Resistant Aluminum Alloys via Microstructural Design at Atomic Length Scale
Aluminum alloys, as core materials for lightweight and low carbon applications, derive their mechanical performance directly from their microstructure. After decades of development, conventional strategies such as adjusting the main alloying elements and optimizing heat treatments have approached their performance limits. Microalloying has emerged as a highly promising approach to refine microstructures and enhance the mechanical properties of aluminum alloys.
Obesity‐Associated TRIM15 Promotes the Proliferation of Esophageal Adenocarcinoma Through the YY2/FOXRED1 Axis
1 Introduction Obesity has been identified as an independent risk factor for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and esophageal adenocarcinoma (EAC).[1, 2] The relative risk of EAC in obese individuals with a high body mass index (BMI) is 4.8 times higher than in those with a normal BMI.[3] Oxidative stress and inflammation driven by chronic GERD are the main causes of EAC carcinogenesis.[2] Several studies have shown that stimulation by gastric acid, bile acids, and inflammatory factors...

Deciphering the regulatory landscape of murine splenic response to anemic stress at single-cell resolution
Steady-state erythropoiesis produces mature red blood cells (RBCs) at a constant rate, however, stressors such as hemolysis and bleeding may cause disruption of erythrocytes production, termed as stress erythropoiesis.1 Under these conditions, erythroid output is increased to compensate for the loss of their production, and alternative stress erythropoiesis pathways are activated.2 Spleen has been identified as the primary site for stress erythropoiesis in mice.3 Early studies on how the body...

A rare case of giant hepatic angiomyolipoma with subcapsular rupture
Introduction Hepatic angiomyolipoma (HAML) is a rare hepatic mesenchymal neoplasm first reported in 1976 (1). It is generally composed of blood vessels and smooth muscle cells, and adipose tissue, with great variety in proportions (2). A review published in 2016 identified 292 patients with one or more HAML, and most of them are middle-aged women (1). Calame et al. (3) identified 10 HAML patients who had a spontaneous rupture in 2021.

A Case of Severe Kratom Addiction Contributing to a Suicide Attempt
Introduction Kratom is a tea leaf extract derived from the plant Mitragyna speciosa that is native to Malaysia, Myanmar, and Thailand. In Southeast Asia, its plant leaves have been utilized for centuries for various applications. Kratom provides stimulating effects at low doses and farmers use it to be more productive and stave off fatigue [1]. It was also historically consumed to provide relief for other ailments, including fever, cough, diarrhea, and even hypertension.
Liquid-Liquid Equilibrium Data for Cyclohexane-Ethanol-Solvent Ternary Systems and Their Correlation with the Nonrandom Two-Liquid Model
Liquid–liquid equilibrium data for a cyclohexane–ethanol–solvent ternary system were obtained at 303.15 K and 100.3 kPa using 1,4-butanediol, dimethyl sulfoxide, or N,N-dimethylformamide as the extractant. Extraction abilities of these solvents in the separation of ethanol from a mixture containing cyclohexane were determined in terms of the distribution coefficient and the separation factor derived from experimental values.
Chong Yang: Let’s share the humanity of Asian women - against misogyny from without and within
For a year now, my siblings and I have kept our elderly mother home because of the Coronavirus. After her second vaccine dose, we told her to stay home because of the “Asian Flu” hate crimes. Then six Asian women were murdered in Atlanta, and two Hmong women were killed by domestic violence in St. Paul. What next?

PRMT5 Modulates Splicing for Genome Integrity and Preserves Proteostasis of Hematopoietic Stem Cells
Highlights • HSC size and protein synthesis rate increase upon depletion of PRMT5 activity • PRMT5 depletion leads to AKT/mTOR activation, which partly contributes to HSC loss • PRMT5 activity is required for splicing of DNA repair genes in multiple cell types • PRMT5 KO or inhibition causes oxidative DNA damage that triggers p53-induced apoptosis Summary Protein arginine methyltransferase 5 (PRMT5) is essential for hematopoiesis, while PRMT5 inhibition remains a promising therapeutic...
Excellent degradation performance towards organic pollutants of 3D hierarchical nanoporous structures of Copper
Advanced oxidation process provides a promising way to the degradation of organic pollutants in wastewater, wherein developing highly efficient catalyst is of paramount importance. Herein, a three-dimensional (3D) hierarchical nanoporous structures of Cu catalyst with desirable geometries were synthesized by laser 3D printing combined with chemical dealloying. The resulting 3D nanoporous Cu (3D NP-Cu) exhibited 660-fold larger specific surface area than conventional 2D ribbon or powder catalysts.
Computational design of a molecular triple photoswitch for wavelength-selective control
A small single molecule with multiple photoswitchable subunits, selectively and independently controllable by light of different wavelengths, is highly attractive for applications in multi-responsive materials and biological sciences. Herein, triple photoswitches are presented consisting of three independent azobenzene (AB) subunits that share a common central phenyl ring: the meta-trisazobenzenes (MTA).

CDK5/FBW7-dependent ubiquitination and degradation of EZH2 inhibits pancreatic cancer cell migration and invasion
Pancreatic cancer is one of the most lethal cancer types. Enhancer of zeste homolog 2 (EZH2) is an oncogenic protein overexpressed in pancreatic cancer, and EZH2 could be a potential therapeutic target for the treatment of pancreatic cancer. Although significant progress has been made toward understanding the function and deregulation of EZH2 in cancer cells, the posttranslational regulation of EZH2 in cancer cells is still unclear.
