An apartment burglar recently arrested in Denton can easily be described as slippery, but he clearly wasn't very slick. Officers were called about 5 p.m. Monday to a burglary-in-progress in the 300 block of West Hickory Street. The resident who called 911 locked himself in a bedroom while waiting for police. Before officers arrived, another resident flagged them down and reported a man was outside coating windows and doors with Vaseline.

As democrats try to flip the U.S. Senate seat in Texas in the upcoming November Midterms, the two likely candidates to end up with the nomination are doing some last-minute campaigning ahead of the March 3rd Primary Election. State Representative James Talarico is touring the state in the final days leading up to the March 3rd Primary. He says if nominated, he's very optimistic on his chances in winning in November.

The race for Texas attorney general is tightening in both parties as early voting approaches in the state’s primary elections, according to a new poll. In the Democratic primary, state Sen. Nathan Johnson (D-Dallas) holds a narrow lead over former Galveston Mayor Joe Jaworski, 25% to 22%, in a survey conducted by political scientist Mark Jones. The poll shows a large share of voters still undecided, suggesting the contest remains fluid in the final days before ballots are cast.
