What was your first job as a journalist?
Shoveling coal into the ancient printing press at the Muddy Brook Times.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
Afflict the comfortable, comfort the afflicted! Seek the truth and ask the hard questions. Skeptical by default but open to hearing all side.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Email! Keep headers short and hyperbole-free! I almost automatically ignore pitches that claim to be about a "first-ever" product.

Why did you become a journalist?
For the fame and fortune!
When's the best time to pitch you?
I at least read the header of every email I'm sent. There is no good or bad time.
