HENRIETTA, Texas (KAUZ) - Clay County Sheriff Sidney K. Horton released a statement late Friday night, announcing the arrest of an unnamed former deputy on multiple charges. The release stated Texas Rangers arrested the former deputy on two charges of civil rights violation of person in custody, improper sexual activity, and one charge of solicitation of prostitution. Authorities booked the individual into the Archer County jail on Thursday.

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - State-wide elections were held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 to determine winners in runoff elections from the March primaries. In the runoff election for Wichita County Judge, Mark Dora received 55-percent of the votes, defeating Rick Hatcher who tallied 45-percent. Since there is no democratic candidate running for the county judge position, Dora is set to run unopposed in November in the general election.

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - Memorial High School senior Braylon Kinzie shattered a WFISD record in the 800-meter dash at the UIL Class 5A Regional meet in Lubbock, Texas. Kinzie’s time of 1:53.52 beats the record set by Old High’s Ricky Rose in 1967. Rose’s time was 1:54.60, meaning Kinzie’s run was better by just over a whole second. Kinzie’s run not only smashed the city record, but was good enough to qualify for the state track & field meet in Austin.
