Golden Tempo comes from behind to win 158th Belmont Stakes

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Golden Tempo has won the 158th Belmont Stakes. The colt, ridden by jockey Jose Ortiz, was in last place the majority of the race but used the momentum to propel to first place. The win also marks another moment in history for trainer Cherie DeVaux. She becomes the first female trainer to win two legs of the Triple Crown. DeVaux called the win meaningful.

1 injured following shooting in Chickasaw neighborhood

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Metro Police are investigating a shooting in the Chickasaw neighborhood. According to MetroSafe, the shooting was reported Saturday evening near 44th and West Broadway. So far, one person has been injured in the incident and it’s unclear the severity of their injuries. If you have any information that can help police in their investigation, you are asked to call the Anonymous Tip Line at (502) 574-LMPD or use their online Crime Tip Portal.
