GIF Bag: Watch a Model Twerk-Off Go Down
Photo: Clint Spaulding Everyone’s in the highest of spirits on the first day of Fashion Week. Especially these two models at Honor, who squeezed in time to have a cute little twerk-off (rather than a pose-off) backstage, all in honor of a former Disney princess. Their energy could not be contained. They proceeded to prance down the runway like jubilant gazelles. Also spotted at Honor: famous faces in the front row. While smiles weren’t plastered on their mugs, those eyes were filled with wonder.
What To Wear To A Fall Wedding If You Want To (Almost) Outshine The Bride
Weddings aren't necessarily the time to test out the latest straight-off-the-runway fashion trends. Some ceremonies are traditional, especially when the couple are a bit old school. But if a summer full of celebrations have left you bored with your usual options, don't resign yourself. There are certain on-the-rise styles you can wear to a fall wedding without upsetting the duo who invited you.
New York Fashion Week 2019: Kevin Love isn’t cavalier about style
By Alev Aktar September 6, 2019 | 11:51pm Enlarge Image Kate Bock and Kevin Love Photo by Clint Spaulding/WWD/REX NBA star Kevin Love might be a power forward, but he’s not a power shopper. After all, it’s not easy to pop tags when you’re 6-foot-10 with size 17 feet, like the Cleveland Cavaliers champ. “Most of the time, it has to be custom,” he told The Post after the Rag & Bone show, which he attended with his girlfriend, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model Kate Bock.
“All Money Is His”: At Mar-a-Lago, Trump Polls Guests About Kushner’s Bad Press
When Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner entered the Renaissance Washington Hotel on Saturday, amid the flashing cameras and members of the media covering the Gridiron Club dinner, they evidenced little sign that their world had been nuked in the preceding week. Ivanka, the First Daughter and senior adviser to her father, President Donald Trump, swept the floor with her Carolina Herrera ball gown—black and strapless at the top, flowing with black and white tulle at her waist.
Ryan Seacrest Says Being Accused of Harassment Was “Gut-Wrenching”
One week after an E! investigation found no evidence of wrongdoing on Ryan Seacrest’s part following an accusation of inappropriate behavior, the former E! News host has written an op-ed in which he says, “we must find a way to ensure that everyone—the public, private and public institutions, accusers, and alleged accused—is given the opportunity for a swift and fair review.” In the op-ed, which was published in The Hollywood Reporter on Monday evening, Seacrest noted that the allegations...
Melania Trump’s Chanel Suit Was the Only Normal Thing at the White House Tree Lighting
Merry Christmas! Did you know it’s Christmas? Because Donald Trump would like everyone to know that it is CHRISTMAS. President Trump, otherwise known as America’s Pope, blessed the nation on Thursday night at the 95th annual White House Tree Lighting Ceremony (and on Twitter) when he proudly recalled what bits of the Christmas story he could remember to a crowd he probably believes was roughly 15 million people.
“The Most Tone-Deaf Holiday Gift of All Time”: Kushner Cos. Faces Bathrobe Backlash
It is hard to imagine that 2017, so far, has turned out the way the Kushner family expected it to. The year began with the family beaming in the East Room at the White House as their prodigal son, Jared, was sworn in as a senior adviser to his father-in-law, President Donald Trump, at the end of the inaugural weekend.
Let’s All Take a Breath: Trump Is a Joke, but Bush Was Worse
In the world that half of America seemed to envision a year ago, the results of last night’s election—had there even been an election—would have been a Republican sweep, with The New York Times and every other media outlet leading the cheering and hailing the wisdom of the Dear Leader. As things unfolded in the real world, Democrats presided over a drubbing, and the Times devoted many of its pages, as usual, to the sins of Donald Trump.
Can Trump Escape Impeachment?
Just how close was George Papadopoulos to Jeff Sessions and Donald Trump? What, precisely, was Paul Manafort doing with all those suits, rugs, and passports? Surely Jared Kushner couldn’t have been all that worried about the Robert Mueller probe, or else he wouldn’t have jetted to Saudi Arabia and back in time for Ivanka Trump’s birthday, right?
These Olympians Will Look More Like Astronauts Than Athletes
Jake Burton Carpenter, Tom Sachs and Greg Dacyshyn at the Burton flagship store in Manhattan. Fashion isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when talking about the Olympics (save for the hypnotizing sequined costumes worn by the ice skaters), but maybe the world just hasn’t been looking hard enough.
Kushner’s Real-Estate Business, Amid Turmoil, Adds Another P.R. Heavyweight
As difficult an experience as Jared Kushner has had navigating the power corridors of Washington, D.C., Kushner Companies, his family’s real-estate company, has endured an equally challenging time overseeing the company that he used to lead. In 2007, shortly before the collapse of the real-estate market, a twentysomething Kushner purchased 666 Fifth Avenue for some $1.8 billion.
“You Can’t Go Any Lower”: Inside the West Wing, Trump Is Apoplectic as Allies Fear Impeachment
Until now, Robert Mueller has haunted Donald Trump’s White House as a hovering, mostly unseen menace. But by securing indictments of Paul Manafort and Rick Gates, and a surprise guilty plea from foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos, Mueller announced loudly that the Russia investigation poses an existential threat to the president.
Jane Fonda Says “It’s Going to Be Harder for Men in the Future”
Jane Fonda has seen the future, and for the Harvey Weinsteins of the world, it’s not looking very bright. On Thursday’s red carpet for the annual Women’s Media Awards, she took on the growing sexual assault allegations against the disgraced film-industry mogul, who has denied all allegations of non-consensual sex. “I think it’s going to be harder for men in the future,” she said. “You know, it’s about power. It’s not about sex. It’s about power.
Karlie Kloss and Nicky Hilton Brought High-Fashion Halloween to the Met
The Met’s first annual All Hallows’ Eve benefit took place on Thursday night, somehow transforming the enormous museum into an intimate space. The night was full of wild costumes, interactive art, and a D.J. that managed to spin both Top 40 and the Doobie Brothers at the same time. Magic was truly in the air. After sipping cocktails in the great hall, groups of guests were instructed to walk through a maze of galleries, meeting dancers, a tarot card reader, and an accordion player along the way.
Will O.J. Simpson Really Get Rich?
Does Harvey Weinstein have a legal plan? Where has Jared Kushner disappeared to? Is Bernie Sanders a credible threat to Donald Trump in 2020? The Hive’s crack team of reporters tackle these questions, among others, on the latest episode of V.F. Hive on Cheddar. Meanwhile, author Ron Shipp, O.J. Simpson’s former confidant, drops by to talk about the Juice’s re-entry into society.
The Weinstein Company Isn’t Being Saved After All
The Weinstein Company’s climb back to stability just got higher and tougher. Colony Capital, the private equity firm that was set to give T.W.C. a life-saving cash infusion is now reportedly pulling back on that offer, according to The New York Times. Two people briefed on the matter shared the information with the Times but did not explain why Colony Capital—run by Donald Trump's close friend Tom Barrack—is witholding the cash infusion.
Mike Pence’s Chief of Staff Wants to “Purge” Congress of the Nonbelievers
Several items on Donald Trump’s Make America Great Again agenda have suffered setback after setback in Congress as Republicans fight amongst themselves over policy details. Nearly nine months into the Trump administration, Obamacare remains intact, tax reform is in doubt, and an amnesty bill for undocumented immigrants who arrived as children is, shockingly, a legislative possibility.
Why Shonda Rhimes Thinks the Emmys Were “Embarrassing”
Shonda Rhimes is busier than you, your busiest friends, and their busiest friends. At any given moment she is tending to one of several hit shows, her new Web site, her upcoming Netflix projects, her family, her overflowing garden of a life. But on Monday, September 18, she wants to focus on her position as a creative director for Dove’s Real Beauty Productions—making short films about inspiring women who persevere through everyday difficulties.
How Will Christian Bale Morph into Dick Cheney?
Christian Bale adores a good on-screen transformation. The actor is practically synonymous with them, known for physically adapting his body to whatever he’s playing in his next movie, comfortably going from deathly skinny (The Machinist) to buff (the Batman franchise) to deathly skinny again (The Fighter) to gently pudgy (American Hustle).
Carly Rae Jepsen Does Three-A.M. Bike Rides While She’s on Tour, and Other Admissions from the amfAR Inspiration Gala (Plus Photos)
“I like to wear men’s wear,” Uma Thurman said at the amfAR Inspiration gala, just as the runway show of military-inspired men’s clothing was about to start. “I often go to men’s shops and tailor men’s jackets just for myself. So I’ll be looking!” Thurman laughed. Creations from well-known designers like Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs, Rick Owens, Thom Browne, and Jean Paul Gaultier were shown, and the pieces were up for auction, once the (mostly shirtless) models took them off.

Grace Hightower De Niro Is Teaching Robert De Niro How to Sing the Hokey-Pokey
As a girl, Grace Hightower De Niro tried playing the alto saxophone, but she preferred singing and joined the school choir. She has since dabbled in singing, including a song on the Precioussoundtrack and a performance at the Carlyle. “I actually put it on hold,” Hightower De Niro said at the Education Through Music Children’s Benefit gala on Wednesday. Mrs. De Niro co-chaired the event, held at Cipriani. “But I do plan to get back, because it’s so therapeutic.
Inside the Mud Premiere: Reese Witherspoon Attends Despite Disorderly-Conduct Charges, Skips After-Party
The 3,000-pound elephant inside MoMA on Sunday evening was whether Reese Witherspoon would be in attendance at the New York screening of her movie Mud, just two or so hours after* Variety first reported on her Friday arrest and disorderly-conduct charge. Shedid* attend, though unsurprisingly did not stop to speak to reporters. Still, the mood at the Cinema Society screening was not subdued in the least, with the cast posing and joking about shooting the movie on the Mississippi River in Arkansas.
Party Photos: The American Ballet Theatre Gala, Featuring Coco Rocha, Uma Thurman, and Chanel Iman
Coco Rocha went directly from one opera house to another on Monday night—and no, they were not both in Manhattan. “Tonight we’re flying to Australia right after this,” the model said at the Metropolitan Opera House, where the American Ballet Theatre’s spring gala took place last night. Rocha will be speaking at the Sydney Opera House about the merger of fashion and technology—a subject she knows a bit about as a prolific social-media user.
Jessica Lange Wore a Planned Parenthood Pin to the Late Show
Jessica Lange sported a noticeable accessory when she visited the Late Show Wednesday night—a small Planned Parenthood pin on the right side of her black blazer. This quiet gesture of activism was also seen on this year’s Oscars red carpet. Best-actress winner Emma Stone wore a small gold pin on her dress, while presenter Dakota Johnson fastened hers to her clutch. Lange has long been supporting organizations such as Planned Parenthood.
Anne McNally’s Social-Circuit Diary: January 2017 and More
Upon my return from India, I went to see my friend Hubert Woroniecki’s documentary, Casablancas: The Man who Loved Women, about John Casablancas’s model agency and life. It was fun to see all the supermodels, the 80s, and John’s funny war with Eileen Ford. They did go at each other’s throats to get those girls . . . but John was definitely more fun! I basically spent the rest of the week (actually month, even) totally traumatized by the impending Inauguration Day.

In Dark Political Times, Find Deliverance at the Opera
It also makes Taoist sense, respecting the natural order. Returning ashes to earth or far out at sea subsumes the departed one into the enduring Whole and completes the circle. Ashes dumped into an orchestra pit with no one the wiser will likely just end up in the belly of a vacuum cleaner, joining the dust bunnies in limbo. Such a humdrum way to go.
Anne Hathaway Faces a Very Modern Monster in Charming, Surprising Colossal
Hm. I’m not really sure how to talk about Colossal, the new film from oddball indie auteur Nacho Vigalondo that stars Anne Hathaway, which premiered here at the Toronto International Film Festival on Friday. Discussing too much of the film’s plot might reveal too many of its disarming, exciting secrets. Colossal—darkly funny, politically charged, and unexpectedly moving at the close—is best experienced almost entirely fresh, without any real knowledge of what the film is or what it’s about.

Would You Pay $50,000 to Press Your Body Against Richard Gere?
At a recent charity event, Richard Gere was put up for auction by a celebrity friend. In the 1990 blockbuster Pretty Woman, Richard Gere plays a slick, lonely businessman who pays for the company of a spunky, young sex worker, played by a relatively unknown Julia Roberts, and subsequently falls in love. Now, these many years later, Gere has been put in a position of someone paying for his company, perhaps in the hopes of falling in love.

Alicia Keys Is a Budding Maracas Star -- The Cut
For her resort 2016 collection, Stella McCartney threw her usual garden party, which, this season, was themed around Cuba. From dance lessons to maracas jam sessions, see the evening encapsulated in GIFs, below. Dance lessons from stilt walkers are much easier to understand. Okay, but wait! Did Cara and St. Vincent just ditch us? Your hair looks so great. Yours does, too! Twirl and grab in case of motion sickness.
See Betsey Johnson Do a Split on the Red Carpet
Last night’s CFDA Awards included speeches by both Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, some Terry Richardson bashing and defending, and a moving tribute to Oscar de la Renta by Chelsea Clinton. There was also plenty to see on the red carpet, where Betsey Johnson could be found demonstrating her impressive flexibility (literally) while Jemima Kirke flashed some causal underarm hair. The Cut’s Clint Spaulding was on hand to capture some of the night's more animated moments. See the GIFs below.

After assuming control of his family seat, the 12,000-acre estate Goodwood, March established two of England’s most exciting motor racing affairs, the Festival of Speed and the Revival (writing for this magazine, A.A. Gill deemed it “NASCAR meets Downton Abbey”). Before that, he was a pacesetter in the fast-paced advertising world, snapping campaigns for brands like De Beers, Laura Ashley, and Levi’s.
