It’s nice to meet you! My name is Cody Perez and I hail from Southern California. For more than 12 years, I’ve covered video games, anime, Japanese culture, and general entertainment as a journalist.

I’ve had the ability to start up new sites, seen them grow to more than a million monthly unique visitors in a short period of time, and led other, already successful sites. I even have a couple of years of PR experience, writing press releases and creating media lists.

Why did you become a journalist?

I love writing and wanted a way into the video game and anime industries. I saw this as my gateway while in high school.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

My most proud work was interviewing Naoki Yoshida-san, the lead producer of Final Fantasy XIV multiple times. https://www.vgr.com/ffxivs-yoshi-p-reveals-fate-of-ishgard-housing-new-summons-and-more/

What's your favorite drink?

Right now, my favorite drink has to be Thai Iced Coffee. Caffeine doesn’t sit too well with me so it’s a very rare treat.
