For a school like Kashmere, that would have potentially meant a jump from 4A Division I to 6A -- except its conversion to an in-district charter would have happened after the UIL's realignment.
And the UIL has a rule that says "non-disciplinary alternative schools that are participating members in UIL shall be placed in the same conference as the traditional high school in that school district with the largest enrollment" (although exceptions can be made).
But the in-district charter concept is even even more curious. because the schools themselves could change from a neighborhood, zoned school, to an open-enrollment model.
@v2the4 They'd be reopened, with a different name and different staff.
