A new court date has been set for a woman, who admitted to a death on the Waywayseecappo First Nation. In July of 2023. Manitoba First Nation Police Service members were called to a home on the reserve, where they found a seriously injured 23-year-old man, who was pronounced dead at the scene. 27-year-old Talisa Brandon, of Waywayseecappo, was in Brandon Court of King’s Bench July 6, for manslaughter. A pre-sentence report was previously ordered, and she will return to court on Aug. 31.

Another court appearance has been made by one of two men, charged with kidnapping with a firearm, following an incident in Yorkton. On January 20, Mounties say a man was in a parked vehicle on 4th Avenue North, when two men wearing face coverings, forced him out of the vehicle at gunpoint, placed him in a separate SUV, and drove away. Police spotted an SUV matching the description on Highway 10, heading towards Melville, but it wouldn’t pull over.

One of three people arrested in connection with an armed robbery in Melville, was back in court July 6. 44-year-old Tyrone Sayer, of Regina, appeared in Melville Provincial Court, where he was remanded in custody to July 24 in Yorkton. On May 22, Melville RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence on 2nd Avenue East, in relation to an incident that had occurred the day before. It was reported that a man had robbed an individual, assaulted them, and discharged a firearm.
