BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - Thursday’s oppressive heat and humidity marked the worst of the current stretch, but Friday will bring one more dangerous day before relief arrives. A FIRST ALERT remains in effect for Friday for both inland and coastal communities. Temperatures will climb to the upper 80s and mid-90s, with coastal areas experiencing the hottest conditions of the entire heat wave. Heat index values will range from the mid-90s to the lower 100s, prompting Heat Advisories across the region.

FIRST ALERT Thursday & Friday: Dangerous Heat & Humidity Continues

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - Wednesday was just the beginning. The most dangerous heat and humidity of this stretch arrives Thursday and Friday, with heat index values climbing as high as 110°. Expect a miserable night ahead. Dew points will stay in the 60s and low 70s with overnight lows only dropping to the 60s and low 70s — making sleep difficult. A few isolated showers and storms are possible, along with some patchy fog.

FIRST ALERT: Wednesday - Friday, Dangerous Heat & Humidity

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - Dangerous heat and humidity are moving in, and First Alert Days have been issued for Wednesday through Friday as an upper-level ridge settles over the eastern United States. The rest of tonight will turn warm and muggy as dew points climb into the 60s for most areas. Overnight lows will range from the mid 50s to the mid 60s. Showers and storms are expected from the Bangor region westward, mostly after midnight, clearing by mid-morning Wednesday.
