BLUE HILL, Maine (WABI) -The Blue Hill Fair is underway, continuing a Downeast tradition. For the 135th year, gates opened Friday night for the five-day event. This year features everything from sheepdog trials and live music to tractor pulls, and the Charlotte’s Web exhibit. Organizers are expecting more than 40,000 people to pass through the gates by the end of the weekend. Erik Fitch, Blue Hill Fair general manager, said seeing families return year after year is the best part of the job.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WBRC/Gray News) - Former Alabama basketball player Darius Miles faces two new charges after Tuscaloosa County Jail staff allegedly found suspected synthetic marijuana in his property, according to court documents filed Thursday and Friday. Miles is charged with failure to affix a tax stamp, a felony, and second-degree promoting prison contraband, according to the documents. Bond was set at $2,500 on each charge, records showed.

WASHINGTON (Gray DC) - Cyclists gathered at the Pentagon on June 13, 2026, for the 9/11 National Memorial Trail Bike Tour, marking 25 years since the attacks on the World Trade Center. Joseph Holland, of Roswell, New Mexico, was one of a few dozen cyclists who took part. “My friend’s son was working at the Pentagon on 9/11. Basically, I’m still angry, and this helps me deal with it,” Holland said. The annual ride started in 2022 and is organized by the Sept. 11 National Memorial Trail Alliance.

TYLER, Texas (KLTV/Gray News) - Patrick Mahomes Sr. is seeking approval to see his son’s NFL games, according to a motion filed Friday in the 7th District Court in Tyler, Texas. Court records show Mahomes Sr. filed the motion requesting permission to travel out of state to see seven of his son’s football games in Kansas City, Missouri; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Cincinnati, Ohio.

The president was actually not in Washington, D.C. he was in Florida preparing for an event down there. And as a result, he thought that that day would be a very calm, uneventful day.

LEWISTON, Maine (WABI) - State police have identified the man who died after a shooting in Lewiston Wednesday morning. Officials say 37-year-old Travis Hunter of Lisbon was shot and killed outside the Blue Goose Tavern on Sabattus Street just before 1 a.m. When officers arrived, they found Hunter and a women with gunshot wounds. Police say Hunter died after being taken to a hospital.
