CAMERON, W.Va. (WTRF) — It was 30 years ago Friday that Cameron firefighter William “Billy” Parsons was killed in the line of duty. On the anniversary of his death, family members, friends, firefighters and community members gathered to pay tribute to the hometown hero. A dedication ceremony was held at the Historic B&O Freight Building in downtown Cameron, where a town clock was unveiled in Parsons’ honor. The clock bears an inscription with Parsons’ name, member number and the date of his death.
