DELMARVA - Severe thunderstorms hit areas across Delmarva on Saturday night. Several areas across Delmarva were issued severe thunderstorm warnings on Saturday night. Those warnings lasted until about 8:15pm in most locations. According to WBOC Chief Meteorologist Dan Satterfield, the storms produced torrential downpours in some areas, due to the very moist atmosphere over Delmarva Saturday. More storms are likely Sunday evening before drier conditions arrive on Monday.

It is quite visible today on the GOES images. The fires in the NW Territories of Canada this summer have released around 277 times the amount of carbon that area of Canada emitted in 2021! I’ve been a synoptic meteorologist for 43 years, and I’ve never seen a summer like this one. This memorable summer is not over yet.
