ENDERLIN, N.D. — The Utke family lost a lot on the night of the June 20, 2025, tornado. Most of their house was severely damaged. But they're full steam ahead as the one-year anniversary of the life-changing tornado arrives. They want June 20 to have its original meaning in their family, their oldest son's birthday. A year after the tornado, the Utkes are still not back in their home, and they're months away from moving back in. The reminders are everywhere.

YWCA honors 34 women for community impact

FARGO — Almost three dozen women were celebrated for what they do to help people in the community. On Monday night, April 20, the YWCA honored 34 women in different categories, ranging from education to business to health. Those honored included principals, trainers and doctors, who use their gifts and passion to help people improve their lives, live safely and feel engaged and supported. Some of the winners included Dr. Stephanie Hanson, Beth Olson and Lisa Edison-Smith.

FARGO — "Not bad, you are going to see a couple of those spots, ever so slightly come down a little bit," Lynnes instructor Brandon Markey said to Heidi Chee. Chee is one of the students in the Lynnes Welding Training program in Fargo. "As soon as you got back up there and corrected that, that is exactly what we are after," Markey said. On Friday, March 6, Markey went over Chee's work. And he was impressed. "You are going to like that one," he said to Chee.
