Activation of transposable elements is linked to a region- and cell type–specific interferon response in Parkinson’s disease
Abstract INTRODUCTION RESULTS DISCUSSION METHODS Acknowledgments Supplementary Materials REFERENCES Information & Authors Metrics & Citations View Options References Figures Tables Media Share This article has 0 eLetter . Abstract Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disorder involving a neuroinflammatory response, the cause of which remains unclear. Transposable elements (TEs) have been linked to inflammation, but their potential role in PD remains unexplored.
Multimodal profiling reveals tissue-directed signatures of human immune cells altered with age - Nature Immunology
Abstract The immune system comprises multiple cell lineages and subsets maintained in tissues throughout the lifespan, with unknown effects of tissue and age on immune cell function. Here we comprehensively profiled RNA and surface protein expression of over 1.25 million immune cells from blood and lymphoid and mucosal tissues from 24 organ donors aged 20–75 years.
Multimodal profiling reveals tissue-directed signatures of human immune cells altered with age
Abstract The immune system comprises multiple cell lineages and heterogeneous subsets found in blood and tissues throughout the body. While human immune responses differ between sites and over age, the underlying sources of variation remain unclear as most studies are limited to peripheral blood.
Hiding in Plain Sight: Thymic CD8+FOXP3+Tregs sequester CD25 and are enriched in human tissues
Abstract For decades regulatory T cell (Treg) research has focussed on CD4+FOXP3+ Tregs, whilst characterisation of CD8+FOXP3+ Tregs has been limited by their paucity in blood.

Chromosome contacts in activated T cells identify autoimmune disease candidate genes
Blood samples were obtained from healthy donors selected from the Cambridge BioResource. Donors were excluded if they were diagnosed with autoimmune disease or cancer, were receiving immunosuppressants, cytotoxic agents or intravenous immunoglobulin or had been vaccinated or received antibiotics in the 2–4 weeks preceding the blood donation. CD4+ T cells were isolated from whole blood using RosetteSep (STEMCELL technologies, Canada) according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
