Design of facilitated dissociation enables timing of cytokine signalling - Nature
Abstract Protein design has focused on the design of ground states, ensuring that they are sufficiently low energy to be highly populated1. Designing the kinetics and dynamics of a system requires, in addition, the design of excited states that are traversed in transitions from one low-lying state to another2,3.
Improving parameter inference by resolving Bayesian prior ambiguity via multi-dataset analysis: Application to isothermal titration calorimetry
Abstract Isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) is a powerful technique for probing biomolecular interactions. However, accurate determination of binding parameters—such as enthalpy and free energy—as well as associated uncertainties can be hindered by noise and concentration variability.
Inferring single-cell dynamics of a molecular reporter from unlabeled live-cell light microscopy data analyzed with delay embedding
Abstract Quantification of the temporal sequence of molecular behavior in live individual cells holds promise for improving causal and mechanistic models of cell biology. In recent years, different methods for inferring molecular labeling from microscopy data have been developed, especially in the context of "virtual pathology", but less effort has been directed to the context of single-cell dynamics and live-cell imaging.
La geopolítica del desplazamiento de la demanda energética mundial

From average transient transporter currents to microscopic mechanism -- A Bayesian analysis
Abstract Electrophysiology studies of secondary active transporters have revealed quantitative, mechanistic insights over many decades of research. However, the emergence of new experimental and analysis approaches calls for investigation of the capabilities and limitations of the newer methods. We examine the ability of solid-supported membrane electrophysiology (SSME) to characterize discrete-state kinetic models with >10 rate constants.

Quantifying cooperative multisite binding in the hub protein LC8 through Bayesian inference
Loading metrics Open Access Peer-reviewed Research Article ? This is an uncorrected proof. Abstract Multistep protein-protein interactions underlie most biological processes, but their characterization through methods such as isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) is largely confined to simple models that provide little information on the intermediate, individual steps.
Should Virus Capsids Assemble Perfectly? Theory and Observation of Defects
Abstract Although published structural models of viral capsids generally exhibit a high degree of regularity or symmetry, structural defects might be expected because of the fluctuating environment in which capsids assemble and the requirement of some capsids for disassembly before genome delivery. Defective structures are observed in computer simulations, and are evident in single-particle cryoelectron microscopy studies.
Connexin-46/50 in a dynamic lipid environment resolved by CryoEM at 1.9 Å
Abstract Gap junctions establish direct pathways for cells to transfer metabolic and electrical messages. The local lipid environment is known to affect the structure, stability and intercellular channel activity of gap junctions; however, the molecular basis for these effects remains unknown. Here, we incorporate native connexin-46/50 (Cx46/50) intercellular channels into a dual lipid nanodisc system, mimicking a native cell-to-cell junction.
