Abiotic and biotic controls of non-native perennial plant success in drylands - Nature Ecology & Evolution
Abstract Drivers of non-native plant success in drylands are poorly understood. Here we identify functional differences between dryland native and non-native perennial plants and assess how biotic, abiotic and anthropogenic factors shape the success of the latter. On the basis of plant community and functional trait data from 98 sites across 25 countries, we report a total of 41 non-native plant species at 31 sites. Non-natives tend towards faster growth strategies than natives.

A prospective humoral immune monitoring study of kidney transplant recipients receiving three doses of SARS‐CoV‐2 mRNA vaccine
1 INTRODUCTION Kidney transplant recipients (KTRs), like other solid organ transplant (SOT) recipients, are at an increased risk of severe progression of COVID-19, often with high mortality rates.1-3 Consequently, SOT recipients were prioritized early in SARS-CoV-2 vaccination campaigns.

Cause specific mortality in an Italian pool of asbestos workers cohorts
1 INTRODUCTION Worldwide consumption of asbestos has changed dramatically over the past century. The consumption of asbestos greatly increased from the 1920s until its peak in the 1980s.

Outcomes of the SARS-CoV-2 omicron (B.1.1.529) variant outbreak among vaccinated and unvaccinated patients with cancer in Europe: results from the retrospective, multicentre, OnCovid registry study
Summary Background The omicron (B.1.1.529) variant of SARS-CoV-2 is highly transmissible and escapes vaccine-induced immunity. We aimed to describe outcomes due to COVID-19 during the omicron outbreak compared with the prevaccination period and alpha (B.1.1.7) and delta (B.1.617.2) waves in patients with cancer in Europe.
Vaccination against SARS-CoV-2 protects from morbidity, mortality, and sequelae from COVID19 in patients with cancer
Study design and outcomes OnCovid (NCT04393974) is a European registry study that collects data from consecutive patients with solid/hematologic malignancy diagnosed with COVID-19. By the data lock of 22/12/2021, the registry included 3237 patients diagnosed with COVID-19 between the 27/02/2020 and the 30/11/2021. Patients with unknown vaccination status were excluded.

Correlation Between Doppler Echocardiography and Right Heart Catheterisation-Derived Systolic and Mean Pulmonary Artery Pressures: Determinants of Discrepancies Between the Two Methods
Background There is still controversy about whether transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) can provide reliable estimations of pulmonary artery pressures (PAP). The primary endpoint of this study was to evaluate the correlation between TTE and right heart catheterisation (RHC) in estimating systolic (SPAP) and mean (MPAP) pulmonary artery pressures.

Italian pool of asbestos workers cohorts: mortality trends of asbestos-related neoplasms after long time since first exposure
Objective Asbestos is a known human carcinogen, with evidence for malignant mesothelioma (MM), cancers of lung, ovary, larynx and possibly other organs. MM rates are predicted to increase with a power of time since first exposure (TSFE), but the possible long-term attenuation of the trend is debated. The asbestos ban enforced in Italy in 1992 gives an opportunity to measure long-term cancer risk in formerly exposed workers.

Pleural mesothelioma and asbestos exposure: a case-control study with quantitative risk assessment-response to Marsh and Benson's letter
Marsh and Benson1 commented on our paper and the associated correspondence with Boffetta highlighting two issues.2–4 First, they questioned our exposure–response analyses because we had not always used the same reference categories. We repeated all secondary analyses reported in our online supplementary tables S1 and S2 by using the same reference as in our main analysis (table 1).
