Vermont has six correctional facilities, but not enough space to house all of the state's incarcerated people. As a result, some are sent out of state. A recent Brave Little State episode explores why about 150 Vermonters are incarcerated at the Tallahatchie Correctional Facility in Tutwiler, Mississippi. Public safety reporter Liam Elder-Connors offers a behind-the-scenes look at how he secured access to the facility and shares the stories of some of the men incarcerated there.

Vermont gets its first ever animal welfare director

Burlington High School says goodbye to its Macy's location

The Burlington High School community is marking the end of an era. After five years in a former Macy's department store, students and staff are preparing to move into a brand new building. The district shuttered the old Burlington High School on North Ave. in 2020 after testing uncovered PCB contamination.
