Oppressive and dangerous heat wave headed for Boston

Boston's first official heat wave of 2026 is on the way. The city had a combined seven days of temperatures exceeding 90 in May and June, but this upcoming stretch is the hottest and most humid weather Boston has experienced since last summer. The National Weather Service and CDC have placed much of southern New England into a Major to Extreme Heat Risk category.
