Car rolled 12 to 15 times in Route 222 crash, witnesses say

A serious crash in Lancaster County on Wednesday afternoon sent one woman to the hospital. The crash happened around 5 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Route 222 between Route 322/Ephrata and Route 772/Brownstown in West Earl Township. Witnesses said the car rolled 12 to 15 times. The woman was taken to Lancaster General Hospital. Her condition is not known at this time. Route 222 was shut down in both directions for about two hours on Wednesday so crews could clear the scene.

Ballot dropbox removed from Lancaster County administrative building

Lancaster County's ballot dropbox has been removed. It was taken away Monday after being put back Friday following a judge's ruling. County commissioners had voted to remove it, but the American Civil Liberties Union sued and the judge allowed it to come back. The county's two Republican commissioners then voted Monday as part of a Board of Elections resolution to remove the box again. The commissioners cited election integrity, saying having someone monitor the box is not efficient.
