OMAHA, Neb. - Creighton volleyball hosted Pepperdine on Saturday. The Waves took an early lead, but the Jays didn't let them get ahead too far. Back-to-back aces from Nora Wurtz pushed Creighton up 21-19. The Bluejays won Set 1 25-22. The Waves were back in front early on in Set 2. Eloise Brandewie tied things up with a big swing. Unfortunately, Creighton couldn't hold on to their moment and fell 17-25 in Set Two. In Set Three, Creighton got off to an early lead.

A private school community is showing support for a husband and wife who were injured by a lightning strike in Florida on Wednesday night. Aaron and Clare Walenga work at the Foundation Academy in Winter Garden, Florida, where their three children are students. The Foundation Academy president told Hearst sister station WESH that the couple is on their road to recovery thanks to the three good Samaritans who stopped to help them on a hiking trail.

Following Nebraska's season-opening win over Ohio, Matt Rhule said there is still a lot of work that needs to be done.

Nebraska opened Matt Rhule's fourth season with a win. The Huskers earned a 49-21 win over Ohio at Memorial Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The victory is NU's 100 th season-opening win in program history. Anthony Colandrea went 18-32 for 275 yards and three touchdowns to lead Nebraska in the first meeting between the teams. This is the first meeting between the Huskers and the Bobcats. Rhule announced weeks ago that Colandrea will start Saturday's game.

A chunk of ceiling fell inside a main hallway of the Kennedy Center, according to a spokesperson who said the damage underscores the need to shut down the historic arts venue for renovations sought by President Donald Trump. When Zoë Armstrong got an ultrasound report showing signs of endometriosis, she called her mom and cried. After years of suffering and seeking help from doctors, she finally had an answer. "To see it on paper, I was like, 'I'm not crazy,'" the 31-year-old recalled. "I very much knew what I was feeling in my own body." Armstrong's experience is not unusual.
