Last month, I attended Georgia Tech’s 2026 Spring Symposium—”Skilling, Upskilling, and Reskilling in the Age of AI.” In one of the talks, a speaker drew an analogy back several decades to the transition from horse-drawn carriages to automobiles. The speaker noted—correctly, in my opinion—that although some of the early automobiles were likely weaker than the horse-drawn carriages they were replacing, everyone could see the potential.
