Human angiotensin‑converting enzyme 2‑specific benzothiazole-based allosteric inhibitor against pan‑sarbecoviruses
|
Abstract Emerging SARS‑CoV‑2 variants and related zoonotic sarbecoviruses rely on ACE2 for cell entry, motivating host‑directed antivirals that block spike-ACE2 interaction. Here, we characterize MB‑32, a benzothiazole small molecule that binds ACE2, selectively disrupts binding of SARS‑CoV‑2 spike receptor‑binding domain to ACE2, and preserves ACE2 enzymatic activity across species.

CRMP2 inhibits metastasis formation by impairing ILF3-dependent stabilization of CXCL10 mRNA in breast cancer - Cell Death & Disease
Abstract Tumor-derived elements contribute to the formation of the pre-metastatic niche (PMN) and facilitate cancer metastasis, but much less is known about the key molecular mechanisms. Here, we demonstrate that collapsin response mediator protein 2 (CRMP2), a critical regulator of the cytoskeleton, is associated with metastasis in breast cancer. CRMP2 overexpression inhibits both lung metastasis and PMN formation in breast cancer.

SD‐OCT‐based biomarkers in predicting treatment outcomes of macular oedema secondary to retinal vein occlusion treated with anti‐VEGF therapy
1 INTRODUCTION Retinal vein occlusion (RVO) is the second commonest retinal vascular disorder after diabetic retinopathy (DR), with macular oedema (MO) being the leading cause of vision loss (Laouri et al., 2011; Rogers, McIntosh, Cheung, et al., 2010; Rogers, McIntosh, Lim, et al., 2010).
Promoting Sulfur Redox Kinetics of Atomically Dispersed Fe-NC Electrocatalyst by Carbon Vacancy toward Robust Lithium-Sulfur Batteries
Promoting Sulfur Redox Kinetics of Atomically Dispersed Fe-NC Electrocatalyst by Carbon Vacancy toward Robust Lithium-Sulfur Batteries Single-atom catalysts (SACs) have become the key to overcoming the inherent limitations of lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries for their exceptional catalytic activity, high selectivity, and strong affinity towards lithium polysulfides (LiPSs). The effectiveness of SACs is influenced by complex electronic structures.
Successful Application of Artificial Intelligence‐Assisted Analysis of Invasive Pulmonary Adenocarcinoma Less Than 6 mm in Size: A Case Report and Literature Review - Zhang - 2025 - The Clinical Respiratory Journal - Wiley Online Library
1 Introduction Lung cancer is one of the most common cancers and a leading cause of cancer-related deaths. Lung cancer is usually asymptomatic at an early stage and often diagnosed at a late stage, which explains the high mortality rate [1, 2]. Early screening and diagnosis can dramatically decrease the mortality associated with lung cancer [1, 2]. Low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) is an effective early screening tool for lung cancer for the purpose of reducing mortality [2, 3].
A Framework for Mapping Urban Spatial Evolution: Quantitative Insights from Historical GIS and Space Syntax in Xi’an
1. Introduction In recent years, the “Spatial Turn” has provided new perspectives across the humanities and social sciences, encouraging scholars to move beyond traditional micro-level analyses of texts and artifacts. Space is now seen as an active force that shapes human activity rather than a passive backdrop [,,,]. Spatial configurations interact with social, political, and cultural processes, offering deeper insights into how historical events influence urban environments.

Association between deep learning measured retinal vessel calibre and incident myocardial infarction in a retrospective cohort from the UK Biobank
Discussion In this study, we further validated the association between retinal vessel calibres measured by a previously developed DL model (SIVA-DLS) and MI in a Caucasian cohort. The strength of the model lies in the fact that it focuses on automated retinal vessel calibre measurement instead of evaluating the entire retinal image, enabling better interpretability of the results generated by the DL model.
Increased plasma lipocalin‐2 levels are associated with nonmotor symptoms and neuroimaging features in patients with Parkinson's disease
Parkinson's disease (PD) is a common neurodegenerative disease that affects both motor and nonmotor functions. Lipocalin-2 (LCN2) is essential for the regulation of neuroinflammation and cellular uptake of iron that have been considered essential factors in the development of PD. However, studies on LCN2 levels in PD patients are rare, and whether increased LCN2 levels are correlated with nonmotor symptoms, gray matter atrophy, and iron deposition within the SN is unknown.
Construction and Function of Thiolate-Bridged Diiron NxHy Nitrogenase Model Complexes
Conspectus Biological nitrogen fixation mediated by nitrogenases has garnered significant research interest due to its critical importance to the development of efficient catalysts for mild ammonia synthesis. Although the active center of the most studied FeMo-nitrogenases has been determined to be a complicated [Fe7S9MoC] hetero-multinuclear metal–sulfur cluster known as the FeMo-cofactor, the exact binding site and reduction pathway of N2 remain a subject of debate.

Editorial: Next generation in vitro models to study chronic pulmonary diseases
Chronic pulmonary diseases, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), tuberculosis (TB), and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), impact millions of people and are leading causes of death worldwide (1–3). Hence, a vast amount of research effort has been made to find early detection and curative therapies for these diseases. Researchers utilize several novel in vitro and ex vivo models to investigate the underlying mechanisms behind respiratory diseases.
