BRAINERD — Every playground should have a slide. That’s what Brittney Buchite believes and why she’s been working so hard to revamp the playground at Discovery Woods school in Brainerd. Her goal is to at least add a slide to the small amount of equipment already outside the school by the end of the calendar year. “And we really want it to be open to everyone, not just our school,” she said while standing outside on the playground on Tuesday, July 7.

BRAINERD — The Transportation Advisory Committee in Brainerd will review the difference in fare between Brainerd and Baxter trips. Brainerd City Council members agreed on Monday, July 6, to have the committee discuss and provide guidance on an agreement between Brainerd and Baxter that allows Baxter to set its own fares for rides within the city.
