WHS boys tennis higher in numbers this season

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Trojans boys tennis team features a balanced mix of youth and experience for its upcoming spring season. The Trojans have regrown its numbers back to the low 30s after a string of seasons of lower turnout. Driving much of the new numbers are seventh and eighth graders from Worthington Middle School. But there are also some high schoolers who are out for their first or second seasons.

Minnesota West women win regular season finale; Men fall to Ridgewater

WORTHINGTON — The Minnesota West Lady Jays went undefeated in conference play after defeating Ridgewater 87-50 on Saturday. It is the first time the top-ranked Lady Jays (21-5) have gone undefeated in conference play under coach Rosalie Hayenga-Hostikka and perhaps ever. The Lady Jays honored their four sophomore players pregame with a special message delivered by public announcer Jared Rademacher. The sophomores for the Lady Jays are Sadie Krahling, Katrina Schutz, Maddie Kamm and Jayda Hellewell.

Trojans gym team wins two meets this week

WORTHINGTON — The Worthington Trojans gymnastics team won a Tuesday Big South dual against Windom Area/Mountain Lake. The Trojans varsity squad put together a strong score of 140.6. The top all around scorer in the meet was eighth grader Jada Milbrath who scored 35.45 for the Trojans. WHS sophomore Bella Lazzu was second in the all-around with a score of 34.85, and in third was Lucy Thier with a score of 34.25.
