TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Not a lot of change to the overall weather pattern vs the last couple days so will continue to monitor the risk for showers/storms developing this afternoon. While the best chance is after 3pm, activity could develop as early as 1pm. Heat remains the overall main concern as it gets hotter today through Monday before cooling down on Tuesday.

Friday forecast: Seasonal today, warming this weekend

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - It’ll be another near seasonal day with a warming trend tomorrow through Monday before cooling back down starting Tuesday. There is a very low probability of a pop up shower/storm this afternoon but it won’t be as widely scattered as yesterday, a lot more areas will remain dry. Better chance of rain returns toward the end of next week. Taking Action: The chance for showers/storms is much lower than yesterday but not at 0%.

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Isolated to at best scattered showers/storms are expected to develop this afternoon with the best chance after 3pm, could linger until 10pm. Locally heavy rainfall is the main concern with lightning the only hazard, no severe weather risk. After today, the attention turns to even hotter temperatures vs what we’ve had since this past weekend. Peaking near if not in the triple digits Sunday and Monday.
